Löllingite with Mica
Huanggang Mine, Chifeng Prefecture, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China
A solid piece of wonderfully lustrous löllingite with fine bladed crystals stacked in parallel growth. Small clusters of a deep brownlish mica coat the base of the specimen and thin out to a light scattering towards the top. One edge is contacted and there are some small minor scuffs, but this is an attractive and eye catching specimen. From the discovery at Huanggang Mine that has in recent years produced the best löllingite specimens ever found.
